The Prayagraj Division of the North Central Railway has taken a progressive step to empower marginalized communities by granting priority to Divyangjan or persons with disabilities in the allotment of stalls and trolleys under the popular One Station One Product scheme. Under this special welfare drive, a total of 39 OSOP units will be set up across 28 railway stations in the division to promote self-employment and financial independence. The initiative is being implemented under the leadership of Divisional Railway Manager Rajneesh Agarwal and Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Hari Mohan, extending its reach into the Bundelkhand region covering both Prayagraj and Jhansi divisions to support local artisans. Here are the key highlights of this railway initiative:

A total of 39 OSOP units are being distributed across 28 railway stations in the Prayagraj Division.
Priority in stall allocation is exclusively given to Divyangjan to boost their economic independence.
Registration fees are fixed at ₹2,000 monthly for major stations and ₹1,000 monthly for other stations.
Applicants selling food items must submit a mandatory FSSAI certificate alongside their Aadhaar and disability ID.

How Divyangjan Can Apply for OSOP Stalls

Eligible candidates who wish to set up their business units at railway platforms must submit a formal written request directly to the Station Master of the relevant railway station. To complete the verification process, applicants need to carry essential documents including their Aadhaar card and a valid Divyangjan certificate. Furthermore, if the applicant plans to sell indigenous food items or local culinary products, furnishing a Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) certificate is compulsory to ensure compliance with food safety regulations.

Affordable Registration Fees and Station Categories

To make the scheme accessible, the Indian Railways has kept the financial entry barrier minimal. The registration fee for operating these commercial units is structured according to the footfall and importance of the railway station. For major commercial hubs such as Prayagraj, Prayagraj-Chheoki, Mirzapur, Kanpur Central, Aligarh, Etawah, Tundla, Fatehpur, and Subedarganj, the registration fee is ₹2,000 per month. For all other remaining railway stations within the division, the fee is significantly reduced to ₹1,000 per month. This thoughtful pricing structure ensures that small vendors and disabled artisans can run their businesses profitably without heavy financial burdens. By aligning with the national Vocal for Local vision, this noble initiative by the Ministry of Railways successfully transforms railway stations into vibrant marketplaces for indigenous arts, crafts, and regional products.
