South Eastern Railway General Manager Anil Jain conducted his first official inspection of the Bokaro section on August 21, 2026, focusing on infrastructure development, passenger amenities, and electrical department efficiency. The visit covered the Bokaro railway station and the Adra Division’s largest electrical department facility, where Jain issued specific directives to officials to resolve operational gaps.
The high-level inspection follows a preparatory visit to Bokaro station by the Divisional Railway Manager on August 19, 2026. Anil Jain assumed his role as General Manager of South Eastern Railway in April 2026 and oversaw this evaluation amidst logistical challenges caused by multiple train cancellations between August 17 and August 23, 2026, due to a rolling block in the Adra Division.
Key Infrastructure Upgrades
Looking toward future development, General Manager Jain announced that four to five new platforms will be constructed at Bokaro station. He also confirmed that the installation of escalators is currently underway and is expected to be completed shortly to enhance passenger convenience.
A significant portion of the inspection emphasized the ongoing railway double-tracking project. Jain noted that double-lining work is progressing in several locations, which is essential for increasing passenger train capacity, particularly for routes connecting Bokaro to the southern regions. Furthermore, comprehensive plans for the expansion of the local electrical department were thoroughly discussed during the tour.
