What’s inside:

This article talks about the speed and performance of the Vande Bharat train, particularly the Delhi-Varanasi route.

The Vande Bharat train running between Delhi and Varanasi is currently the fastest train in India. It travels at an average speed of 95 kilometers per hour. This train has gained popularity due to its speed and efficiency.

However, a recent study shows that the average speed of Vande Bharat trains has dropped over the years. In 2020-21, the average speed was 84.48 kilometers per hour, but by 2023-24, it fell to 76.25 kilometers per hour. Despite this, Vande Bharat trains are still recognized for their speed across the country.

For passengers, the trains are improving their punctuality. In 2024, they were delayed by an average of only 18 minutes, down from 20 minutes in 2023. More than half of the Vande Bharat trains arrive at their stations within eight minutes of the scheduled time.

Some other facts include that the Vande Bharat train between Delhi and Varanasi covers a distance of 759 kilometers in about eight hours. The Bhopal to Hazrat Nizamuddin Vande Bharat train is quicker, completing 702 kilometers in around seven and a half hours.

Moving forward, these trains are designed to run at speeds of up to 160 kilometers per hour. However, due to challenging routes and track conditions, they often run at lower speeds. This means some trains are not as fast as they could be, but efforts are ongoing to improve their performance.

Summary:

  • The Vande Bharat train from Delhi to Varanasi is the fastest in India.

  • Its average speed has decreased from 84.48 km/h to 76.25 km/h over the years.

  • Punctuality has improved, with average delays reduced to 18 minutes.

  • The train covers 759 km in about eight hours.

  • Future improvements are planned to enhance speed on various routes.
