The East Central Railway (ECR) Sonpur Division is set to undertake a major safety upgrade by modernizing eight busy level crossing gates situated between Muzaffarpur and Hajipur. This infrastructure project aims to eliminate human error, enhance operational efficiency, and ensure the safety of both road users and train passengers. With a total estimated budget of 1.76 crore rupees, the initiative focuses on replacing outdated lifting barrier components with state-of-the-art digital equipment.
Key details of the infrastructure project include:
- Modernization of eight level crossing gates on the Muzaffarpur-Hajipur section.
- Implementation of advanced interlocking and sensor-based systems to prevent accidents.
- Installation of CCTV cameras, GPS, alarms, and flasher lights for real-time monitoring.

Leveraging Technology for Train Safety
