Train Accident Averted in Bagaha, Bihar as Train Collides with Buffalo on Valmiki Tiger Reserve Tracks, Passengers Safe.

A big train accident in West Champaran district’s Bagaha was narrowly avoided. Here’s what happened.




In Bagaha, a major rail accident was averted when the Champaran HumSafar Express (train number 15705) traveling from Katihar to Delhi collided with a buffalo in the Valmiki Tiger Reserve jungle area. The incident occurred near the Madanpur railway track between Valmikinagar Road and Paniyahwa stations.

The train driver immediately applied emergency brakes, preventing a derailment and saving the lives of hundreds of passengers. The area near the railway track is frequented by local shepherds who take their cattle to graze in the Valmiki Tiger Reserve jungle.


After the incident, there was chaos among the passengers on the train for a while, but thankfully, no one was injured. Railway officials inspected the tracks and resumed normal operations. The incident did cause some disruptions in train services for a brief period.

This area around the Valmiki Tiger Reserve has seen multiple instances of wild and domestic animals straying onto the railway tracks, leading to collisions. Despite the presence of boundary walls, such incidents continue to occur.


The station master of Valmikinagar Road station, P.N. Pandey, confirmed the incident and praised the quick thinking and alertness of the train driver in preventing a major disaster. Ensuring passenger safety remains the top priority for the railway authorities, who will take necessary steps to prevent such incidents in the future.
