Indian Railways is launching a brand new weekly Amrit Bharat Express service connecting Gorakhpur and Delhi to provide affordable, comfortable, and modern non-air-conditioned travel for passengers. This new service will replace the existing special train service numbered 05057/05058, bringing a permanent and reliable transit option for lower and lower-middle-income commuters travelling between Uttar Pradesh and the national capital. Here are the key highlights of the new train service:

* Train Numbers: Train No. 15095 for Gorakhpur to Delhi Junction and Train No. 15096 for Delhi Junction to Gorakhpur.

* Launch Dates: Regular service from Gorakhpur begins on August 27, 2026, and from Delhi Junction on August 28, 2026.

* Frequency: Weekly operations running every Thursday from Gorakhpur and every Friday from Delhi.

* Major Halts: Includes scheduled stops at Khalilabad, Basti, Gonda, Burhwal Junction, Sitapur Junction, Bareilly, Moradabad, and Ghaziabad.

* Additional Route: A separate Amrit Bharat Express connecting Gorakhpur to Bandra Terminus is also set to start on August 28, 2026.

Schedule and Timings

The Ministry of Railways and the Railway Board have officially finalized the timetable for this much-awaited route following formal approval granted on August 10, 2026. According to Northeast Railway Chief Public Relations Officer Sumit Kumar, Train No. 15095 will depart from Gorakhpur at 10:45 PM every Thursday and is scheduled to reach Delhi Junction at 12:50 PM the following day. For the return journey, Train No. 15096 will leave Delhi Junction at 2:10 PM every Friday and arrive back in Gorakhpur at 6:30 AM the next morning.

Boosting Purvanchal Connectivity

Gorakhpur MP Ravi Kishan shared the positive development via his official social media channels, highlighting that the new express train will immensely improve connectivity for the entire Purvanchal region. Designed with modern push-pull technology for jerk-free rides, enhanced safety features, and better passenger amenities, the Amrit Bharat Express aims to deliver a significantly faster and safer travel experience. Passengers looking for budget-friendly sleeper and unreserved travel can now plan their journeys easily through IRCTC as bookings open for these newly announced routes.
