Indian Railways has announced significant operational changes affecting passengers traveling between Delhi and Jaisalmer, alongside essential infrastructure upgrades and stock improvements. The Runicha Express (Train No. 14087) will undergo a route diversion to facilitate crucial track doubling work, while the Rani Khet Express is set for a major upgrade to modern LHB coaches to improve passenger comfort. Additionally, the North Western Railway has activated comprehensive monsoon safety protocols across its network.

Route Diversion for Runicha Express
The North Western Railway is undertaking critical track doubling work between the Kund-Pali-Khori stations on the Phulera-Reengus-Rewari section. Due to this non-interlocking block, the Runicha Express (14087) will bypass its regular route through Reengus. For the 44 trips scheduled between August 12 and September 24, 2026, the train will be diverted via Rewari-Alwar-Jaipur-Phulera. To assist affected commuters, the railway has added stops at Alwar, Bandikui, Dausa, Gandhinagar Jaipur, and Jaipur.
Hitesh Yadav, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager of the Jodhpur Division, emphasized that these infrastructure projects are vital for long-term efficiency, as they will lead to smoother, safer, and more timely train operations once completed.
Monsoon Preparedness and Coach Upgrades
As part of its seasonal safety drive, North Western Railway has intensified monitoring of flood-prone sections. According to CPRO Amit Sudarshan, the railway has deployed sandbags and gravel to prevent track erosion and installed high-capacity pumps to manage waterlogging at railway underpasses. Continuous 24/7 surveillance is currently in place to ensure passenger safety during heavy rainfall.
In a separate move to enhance the travel experience, Divisional Railway Manager of the Jodhpur Division, Anurag Tripathi, confirmed the upgradation of the Rani Khet Express (15014/15013 and 25014/25013). The train will switch from conventional ICF coaches to modern LHB rakes. This transition begins on August 1 for trains originating from Kathgodam and August 3 for those departing from Jaisalmer. Passengers are advised to check the latest route and schedule updates via official railway inquiry services before heading to the station.
