Mau-Kolkata Special Train: Service extended for 15 trips, check timings and route

North Eastern Railway has decided to extend the operation of the Mau-Kolkata-Mau special train (05096/05095) for 15 additional trips. This move is aimed at managing the heavy passenger rush on this route. The train will feature 19 coaches and serve several key stations across Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and West Bengal.

Detailed Schedule and Operation Days

The special train service will continue through the summer months of 2026. The specific dates and timings for the operations are as follows:

  • Train 05096 (Mau to Kolkata): This train will run every Wednesday from April 8, 2026, to July 15, 2026. It departs from Mau Junction at 13:30 and reaches Kolkata at 08:50 the following morning.
  • Train 05095 (Kolkata to Mau): This train will operate every Thursday from April 9, 2026, to July 16, 2026. It departs from Kolkata at 13:20 and arrives at Mau Junction at 07:45 the next day.

Major Stoppages and Coach Composition

The train is equipped with 19 coaches to accommodate different classes of travelers. This includes 10 General Second Class coaches, 5 Sleeper Class coaches, 1 AC 3-Tier, 1 AC 2-Tier, and 2 SLR/D coaches. The route covers several important junctions.

In a related update, the Surat-Chhapra special train (09065/09066) has also seen an extension in its service period. The train from Surat will now run until June 29, 2026, and the return service from Chhapra will continue until July 1, 2026, providing further relief to long-distance travelers.
