South East Central Railway (SECR) has officially announced the temporary cancellation of 14 trains scheduled for April 2026. This decision comes due to essential infrastructure development and maintenance work on the busy Bilaspur-Raipur route. The affected services include 10 express and 4 passenger trains, which will remain suspended between April 5 and April 25, 2026. This mega block will impact travelers moving between Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Odisha, and West Bengal.
Why are these trains being cancelled by SECR?
The railway administration is undertaking significant technical upgrades at Gondia station and surrounding sections. According to official reports, the washable apron on platform number 3 at Gondia is being removed and replaced with a modern ballasted track. Additionally, work on laying new railway lines in the Jharsuguda section and yard modernization at Akaltara station is also being carried out. These maintenance activities are necessary to ensure safer and faster train operations in the future. Railway authorities have requested passengers to cooperate as these works are part of long-term safety improvements.
