Vande Bharat Sleeper Train to Debut Between Guwahati and Kolkata at the End of January, Details Revealed

Information about the upcoming Vande Bharat Sleeper train service between Guwahati and Kolkata.




The Vande Bharat Sleeper train service will soon be introduced between Guwahati and Kolkata. This sleeper train will have special features and is expected to start operating around 18th or 19th January.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw shared a video on social media platform X showcasing the features of the Vande Bharat Sleeper train, including the interior and exterior design.


The ticket prices for the Vande Bharat Sleeper train have been set with consideration for the middle-class passengers. The fare for Third AC, including meals, will be around ₹2,300, Second AC around ₹3,000, and First AC around ₹3,600.

The train will have 11 Third AC coaches, four Second AC coaches, and one First AC coach, totaling 823 seats. The speed of the train will be around 120-130 kilometers per hour between Guwahati and Kolkata.


In addition to automatic doors, the train will feature comfortable berths, improved suspension, automatic train protection system, emergency talk-back system, and a disinfection system that eliminates 99.9% of germs.
