The Ministry of Railways announced an update for passengers travelling between Mumbai and Ahmedabad. The Mumbai Central–Ahmedabad Vande Bharat Express will now have more seating capacity to handle the heavy rush on this route. This change was officially shared by the RailMinIndia handle on April 28, 2026.

What is the change in coach capacity?

Indian Railways increased the number of coaches in the Mumbai Central–Ahmedabad Vande Bharat Express. The train previously operated with 16 coaches, but it will now run with 20 coaches. This addition allows more passengers to travel on this busy corridor.
