The Ministry of Railways has officially launched the new Kasganj–Aishbagh Express, marking a major boost for passenger connectivity across Uttar Pradesh. This service, which aims to improve travel convenience for thousands of commuters, officially commenced with an inaugural special run on July 26, 2026. Regular daily operations under the train numbers 15311 and 15312 are set to provide a reliable transit link for residents in the region.
- Inaugural Run: The service began with train 05018 departing Ujhani at noon on July 26.
- Daily Schedule: Train 15312 departs Kasganj at 4:20 AM and arrives in Aishbagh at 1:00 PM.
- Return Trip: Train 15311 departs Aishbagh at 2:00 PM and reaches Kasganj at 10:40 PM.
- Capacity: The train is equipped with 16 LHB coaches, including 4 general, 9 second-class seating, and 1 chair car.
- Route Coverage: The train covers a distance of 421 kilometers with 13 scheduled halts.
Restoring a Vital Link
This service marks the much-anticipated restoration of the 15311-12 Kasganj-Aishbagh (Lucknow) Rohilkhand Express. The route had been suspended for 11 years to facilitate essential broad gauge conversion work. The revival of this line comes following approval from Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, with project details formally shared by Union Minister of State BL Verma in June 2026.
Route and Operational Details
Operated under the North Eastern Railway (NER) zone, the train serves as a critical connector for several key towns and cities. The full route includes stops at Kasganj, Ujhani, Badaun, Bareilly, Izzatnagar, Pilibhit Junction, Puranpur, Mailani, Gola Gokarannath, Lakhimpur, Sitapur, Sidhauli, and Mohibullapur before reaching Aishbagh (Lucknow). For the convenience of passengers and operational efficiency, water refilling facilities have been strategically provided at Mailani Junction. This restoration is part of a broader, ongoing effort by the Indian Railways to bolster infrastructure and restore connectivity in underserved regions of Uttar Pradesh.
