The Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail corridor is moving forward quickly. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw shared that the first high-speed rail service is expected to start on August 15, 2027. This project uses Japanese Shinkansen technology to connect major cities in Gujarat and Maharashtra.

The project spans a total of 508 kilometers. Out of this, viaduct work has been completed on 349 kilometers. In Gujarat, about 60% of the overall project work is finished. BEML is currently manufacturing the first bullet train coaches within India to support the project.
