This project is part of the ambitious Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, which aims to transform 508 railway stations across India into world-class travel hubs.

- Project Cost: INR 23.84 crore investment for Amb-Andaura.

A Station Inspired by Himachali Heritage
Developed with a budget of INR 23.84 crore, the Amb-Andaura station now features a design inspired by the traditional architecture of the Mata Hadimba Devi Temple in Manali. The facility has been upgraded to provide an airport-like experience for passengers. Key improvements include modern waiting areas, contemporary washrooms, digital display boards, and enhanced lighting. To ensure seamless travel, the station is now equipped with escalators, lifts, high-speed Wi-Fi, and an advanced public announcement system.
Outside the terminal, passengers will benefit from improved approach roads and a well-organized parking facility capable of accommodating 150-200 vehicles. In line with modern sustainability goals, the station building has been constructed following green energy principles, ensuring a smaller environmental footprint.
Connecting Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh
Beyond the Amb-Andaura upgrade, the event marks a major boost for regional connectivity. Prime Minister Modi will virtually inaugurate 11 state-of-the-art stations under the Ambala Rail Division, including Mohali, Kalka, and Anandpur Sahib. Furthermore, the Daulatpur Chowk-Kartoli new rail line—a vital segment of the Nangal Dam-Talwara-Mukerian project—will be opened to the public, accompanied by the flagging off of the Kartoli-Ambala train service. These developments are set to streamline travel and foster economic growth across the three states. The foundation stone for the Amb-Andaura makeover was originally laid by the Prime Minister in August 2023, and its completion stands as a testament to the accelerated pace of railway infrastructure development in the region.
