Enhanced Passenger Amenities
The modernization drive has significantly upgraded the travel experience for daily commuters and long-distance travelers. Both stations now feature attractive entry gates, wider foot overbridges, and modern lifts to ensure seamless movement. To assist passengers, the stations are equipped with coach guidance display systems, digital signage, and improved platform sheds.
Prioritizing inclusivity, the stations have been designed with ramps for differently-abled individuals, disabled-friendly toilets, and dedicated wheelchair access. Other notable additions include low-height ticket counters, upgraded waiting rooms, and enhanced lighting to ensure safety and comfort during late-night travel.
Focus on Local Integration and Economic Growth
The architectural design of the stations reflects local art and culture, creating a unique identity for each location. Beyond the station buildings, the project includes improved circulating areas, well-organized parking, and widened approach roads to manage traffic efficiently. New gardens have also been developed to improve the aesthetic appeal of the station premises.
Commenting on the initiative, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai praised the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme for its focus on making railways more passenger-centric and accessible. He noted that these upgrades would play a pivotal role in boosting the local economy, creating employment opportunities, and fostering regional growth. As the Raipur Railway Division continues work on the remaining ten stations, these two newly modernized hubs stand as a testament to the ongoing transformation of Indian Railways infrastructure.
