Government Support and Future Outlook
This service fulfills a long-standing public demand, which was championed by local leadership. Member of Parliament from Garhwal, Anil Baluni, confirmed that the launch was the result of sustained efforts to improve the state’s rail infrastructure. He expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for their commitment to these development projects.
Looking ahead, the Ministry of Railways has indicated that there is potential to increase the frequency of this train to four or five days a week. This expansion will be contingent upon passenger demand and ridership data collected over the coming months. With a diverse range of coach classes available, the train is well-positioned to serve both budget-conscious travelers and those seeking premium amenities.
