The North Central Railway (NCR) has announced the launch of a new weekly special train service connecting Agra Cantt and Kolkata to manage the surge in passenger traffic during the upcoming festive season. This service is specifically timed to cater to pilgrims and travellers heading home for Shravani Mela and Raksha Bandhan, ensuring a smoother commute for thousands of passengers.
Key highlights of the new service include:
- Train Numbers: 01911 (Agra Cantt to Kolkata) and 01912 (Kolkata to Agra Cantt).
- Operational Period: From July 23, 2026, to September 25, 2026.
- Frequency: Weekly service departing Agra on Thursdays and Kolkata on Fridays.
- Train Composition: 19 coaches consisting of AC, Sleeper, and General classes.
Schedule and Timings
For passengers travelling from Agra, Train No. 01911 will depart Agra Cantt (AGC) every Thursday at 3:40 AM, reaching Kolkata (KOAA) at 7:25 AM the following day. The return leg, Train No. 01912, is scheduled to depart Kolkata (KOAA) every Friday at 7:25 AM, arriving back at Agra Cantt (AGC) at 8:00 AM on Saturday. The railway has confirmed that there will be 10 trips in each direction, providing ample capacity for festive travellers.
Route and Coach Composition
The train is set to serve major transit hubs, ensuring connectivity across the route. The stoppages include Tundla, Etawah, Kanpur Central, Fatehpur, Subedarganj, Mirzapur, Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction, Sasaram, Gaya Junction, Koderma, Parasnath, Gomoh Junction, Dhanbad Junction, Asansol Junction, Durgapur, Barddhaman Junction, Bandel Junction, and Naihati Junction.
To accommodate diverse passenger needs, the train features a 19-coach configuration including 1 AC Second Class coach, 2 AC Third Class coaches, 10 Sleeper Class coaches, 4 General Class coaches, and 2 MLR/D coaches. Bookings for these special services opened on July 19, 2026, and passengers are encouraged to book their tickets early through the IRCTC website or at railway reservation counters to avoid last-minute rush.
