The North Western Railway (NWR) has announced a temporary augmentation of passenger capacity for three major train services originating from Udaipur. This strategic move, confirmed by Chief Public Relations Officer Amit Sudarshan on July 29, 2026, is designed to manage the anticipated surge in passenger traffic during the upcoming festival season, including Rakshabandhan.
- Jaipur-Udaipur City Railseva (20993/20994): One ordinary class coach added.
- Udaipur City-Asarwa Railseva (20987/20988): One ordinary class coach added.
- Udaipur City-Khajuraho Railseva (19665/19666): One second sleeper class coach added.
Details of the Temporary Coach Augmentation
To ensure passenger convenience, the NWR has scheduled these additions throughout August 2026. For the Jaipur-Udaipur City Railseva (20993/20994), the additional ordinary class coach will be attached from August 1 to August 31, 2026, from Jaipur, and from August 2 to September 1, 2026, from Udaipur City.
Similarly, passengers traveling on the Udaipur City-Asarwa-Udaipur City Railseva (20987/20988) will benefit from an extra ordinary class coach. This service enhancement is effective from August 1 to August 31, 2026, departing from Udaipur, and from August 2 to September 1, 2026, departing from Asarwa.
Long-Distance Travel Improvements
The Udaipur City-Khajuraho-Udaipur City Railseva (19665/19666), a vital route for tourists and pilgrims, will also see an increase in capacity. A second sleeper class coach will be added to this train from August 1 to August 31, 2026, for journeys originating from Udaipur. For the return direction from Khajuraho, the additional coach will be available from August 3 to September 2, 2026.
