Etihad Rail has officially reported a strong start to its passenger operations in the United Arab Emirates, with over 70,000 tickets sold within just a few weeks of service. Launched on June 30, 2026, the network currently connects Abu Dhabi’s Mohammed bin Zayed City Passenger Train Station with Fujairah, providing a modern and efficient transit alternative for commuters and tourists alike.

Upcoming Network Expansion
The network is set for a major rollout in the coming months, connecting more regions across the country. According to the expansion roadmap confirmed by Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, the service will reach new milestones soon:
- September 30, 2026: Dubai and Al Dhaid (Sharjah) stations open.
- November 30, 2026: Madinat Zayed and Liwa stations become operational.
- December 30, 2026: Al Sila, Al Dhannah, and Al Mirfa stations join the network.
- March 30, 2027: The University City station in Sharjah is scheduled to open.
