North Western Railway General Manager (GM) Pankaj Sharma conducted his first official inspection of Rewari Junction on Wednesday to assess passenger amenities, station cleanliness, and ongoing infrastructure projects. Accompanied by DRM Ravi Jain, DCM Rupesh Yadav, and other senior officials, the GM arrived via a special train to review the station’s operational efficiency and development status.
Key takeaways from the inspection include:
- The GM expressed strong dissatisfaction with the cleanliness of the Foot Over Bridge (FOB).
- Concerns were raised regarding the improper installation of safety nets on the bridge.
- Management ordered immediate corrective measures for the disorganized parking facilities at the station.
- The Daily Rail Passenger Association requested the construction of a new washing line at Rewari.
Focus on Passenger Amenities and Accountability
During the thorough inspection, the General Manager scrutinized the station premises and the quality of services provided to passengers. Upon discovering that the cleanliness standards on the Foot Over Bridge were not up to the mark, the GM reprimanded the responsible officials on the spot. He further demanded an explanation for the poorly maintained safety nets and directed the team to rectify the chaotic parking situation, emphasizing that passenger comfort and facility management remain top priorities for the railway administration.
Demand for New Infrastructure
Beyond the inspection, the visit also highlighted the long-standing needs of local commuters. Harish Kumar Bhardwaj, President of the Daily Rail Passenger Association, submitted a memorandum to the GM requesting the establishment of a washing line at Rewari Junction.
Advocating for this development, the association noted that a dedicated washing line would enable the introduction of long-distance trains originating from Rewari. This would significantly benefit commuters traveling from Rewari, Dharuhera, Bhiwadi, and Neemrana to regions including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Assam, and West Bengal. The delegation urged the railway authorities to prioritize this project to enhance connectivity for the region’s expanding workforce and passenger base. The General Manager took note of the feedback, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to improving the overall travel experience for railway users.
