Commuters and devotees are strongly urging railway authorities to increase the frequency of the Amarnath Express Train number 15097 to run at least three days a week from Bhagalpur. This growing demand is driven by the significant surge in the number of pilgrims traveling to Jammu and Kashmir for the holy Amarnath Yatra and Vaishno Devi shrine visits. Currently operating via Jamalpur, Kiul, and Abhaipur, passengers report that the limited schedule causes severe difficulties in planning journeys and securing confirmed reservations during peak seasons. Local residents including Rajiv Kumar, Anish Pandey, Gaurav Pandey, Rakesh Kumar, Sourav Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar, and Dheeraj Kumar have highlighted that the current services fail to accommodate the massive passenger volume originating from Bhagalpur and neighboring districts. Increasing the operational frequency would directly ease travel for commuters from Sultanganj, Jamalpur, Abhaipur, and surrounding regions.
Addressing Heavy Crowding on Religious Routes
Religious travel invariably leads to heavy crowding on existing railway routes. Passengers noted that additional weekly trips would significantly help manage the heavy passenger pressure and make transit much more accessible for everyday travellers and devotees alike. The current limitations leave thousands stranded or struggling with waiting lists during festive and pilgrimage periods.
Formal Appeal to Railway Authorities
A formal appeal has been submitted by local passengers to the Railway Board and officials of the Eastern Railway to expand the train operations urgently. The travelling public remains hopeful that railway authorities will take a positive step to provide much-needed relief to thousands of pilgrims and regular commuters depending on this vital route.
