Indian Railways is launching a brand new train service to connect Bihar and Gujarat with the introduction of the Bhagalpur-Ahmedabad Amrit Bharat Express starting August 28. Railway officials across the Malda and Bhagalpur divisions are finalizing preparations for this much-awaited route, and ticket bookings are expected to open within the next two days. This service aims to greatly benefit traders and migrant workers who frequently travel between the two states, helping them bypass congested transit hubs.
Train 19424 Bhagalpur-Ahmedabad Amrit Bharat Express will depart from Bhagalpur every Friday at 4:45 p.m. and reach Ahmedabad at 5:25 a.m. on Sunday. On the return leg, train 19423 Ahmedabad-Bhagalpur Amrit Bharat Express will begin operations on August 26, leaving Ahmedabad every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. and arriving in Bhagalpur at 6:40 a.m. on Friday.
Train Composition and Schedule Details
This high-capacity 22-coach train features 11 sleeper coaches, eight general coaches, one pantry car, and two SLR (Seating-cum-Luggage Rake) coaches. The train will cover a total distance of approximately 1,976 kilometers in about 36 hours. Regular maintenance of the rakes will be managed at the Ahmedabad terminal.
Stoppages Along the Route
To ensure wide connectivity, the Amrit Bharat Express will make convenient stops at several major and minor stations along its journey. En route, the train will halt at Anand, Chhayapuri, Godhra, Dahod, Ratlam, Bhawani Mandi, Ramganj Mandi, Kota, Sawai Madhopur, Gangapur City, Hindaun City, Bayana, Idgah Agra, Tundla, Govindpuri, Subedarganj, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction, Buxar, Ara, Danapur, Patna, Bakhtiyarpur, Mokama, Kiul, Abhaipur, Jamalpur, and Sultanganj. Passengers are advised to check the IRCTC portal soon for ticket availability.
