What’s inside:

This article talks about new railway lines being proposed in Bihar and the measures being taken for better crowd management during the festive season.

Railway services in Bihar are set to improve with plans for new train lines. The Eastern Railway has proposed a third and fourth line between Barharwa and Bhagalpur, aiming to ease cargo transport for the Kosi-Seemanchal and northern Bihar regions.

The total cost for these 256 km rail lines is estimated at ₹4,879.63 crore. Engineers believe that these new lines will speed up the delivery of food items and coal, allowing for quicker loading and dispatch of goods.

For passengers, the new lines mean easier train movement even when existing lines are busy. This will also clear the way for semi-high-speed trains from Bhagalpur. The railway is making sure that there are no obstacles along the tracks, planning to run trains like Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat.

Additionally, a clone train has been introduced between Sahibganj and Danapur to handle the large crowds during Chhath Puja. This train will run according to the regular timetable and will also operate on November 2 and 9.

Railway officials have set aside a special rack near Sabour station to manage crowd situations effectively. This is the first time such a measure has been taken in Bhagalpur, aimed at ensuring passenger comfort after the festival.

Summary:

  • New railway lines are proposed to enhance transport in Bihar.

  • Cost for the new lines is estimated at ₹4,879.63 crore.

  • Clone trains are being run to manage crowds for Chhath Puja.

  • Special measures are in place for crowd control at Bhagalpur.

  • The new lines will improve both goods transport and passenger services.
