Recent Security Measures in the Capital
This infrastructure announcement follows a period of high-alert security protocols recently observed across the region. Between August 13 and August 16, 2026, railway authorities implemented stringent safety measures to mark Independence Day. During this period, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) were deployed in higher numbers, supported by drone surveillance to monitor station perimeters.
Furthermore, as a precautionary step during the high-security window, commercial parcel booking services were temporarily suspended at five major hubs: New Delhi, Delhi Junction, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Anand Vihar Terminal, and Delhi Sarai Rohilla. With these temporary measures now concluded, the focus has shifted toward the long-term installation of the new surveillance systems, which will serve as a permanent upgrade to the capital’s railway security grid.
