Rapid Expansion of the Vande Bharat Fleet

Currently, the railway network already hosts over 100 Vande Bharat trains, encompassing both chair car and sleeper variants. This financial year is being touted as the most significant period for production to date. Looking ahead, Indian Railways has outlined a massive roadmap to introduce 1,000 Vande Bharat Express trains, which will feature various configurations of 8, 16, and 24 coaches to suit different route requirements and passenger volumes.
Advancing High-Speed Rail Technology
Beyond the current Vande Bharat fleet, the national transporter is also pushing the boundaries of indigenous engineering. Significant progress is being made on the development of a new high-speed train designed to achieve speeds of up to 280 km/h.
