Indian Railways in the Eastern Central Railway Zone has made necessary arrangements to ensure the safety of passengers during foggy weather. Some trains may run at a slower speed or have controlled operations due to the fog. Passengers are advised to be prepared for possible delays and cooperate with the railway authorities.

Fog Safe devices are being installed in train engines to help the loco pilot identify signals, tracks, and important locations clearly even in foggy conditions. Safety of passengers is the top priority for Indian Railways, and hence, precautions are being taken to ensure a safe journey.

The signaling system has been upgraded to ensure safe train operations in dense fog. White markings have been made on tracks and surroundings, signal boards have been cleaned, and bright stripes have been placed at level crossings. LED flasher tail lamps have been installed at the rear end of trains for easy visibility.

Special training is being provided to loco pilots, assistant loco pilots, and guards to operate trains safely in foggy conditions. Special equipment has been installed at necessary stations to assess the fog situation accurately, and additional security arrangements will be made if required.

Summary:

  • Check official channels for train timings and operations before journey.

  • Fog Safe devices installed in train engines for better visibility in foggy conditions.

  • Upgraded signaling system and safety measures for safe train operations in fog.

  • LED flasher tail lamps for easy visibility of trains in foggy weather.

  • Special training for staff and additional security arrangements for foggy conditions.
