In Shahjahanpur, there were two unfortunate incidents where Vande Bharat Express trains hit cattle at different locations. This caused delays in train services for a while.
On Friday, a cattle suddenly came onto the tracks near the Mokshdham railway gate while the Vande Bharat Express was traveling from Lucknow to Meerut. The train pilot honked to alert the animal, but it did not move. Despite applying emergency brakes, the train couldn’t stop in time and collided with the cattle, which died on the spot.
After this incident, the train was halted for about ten minutes. Railway staff quickly arrived to remove the dead cattle and cleared the tracks to resume normal operations.
Similarly, on Thursday evening, another collision happened when a Vande Bharat Express train traveling from Gomtinagar to Saharanpur hit a cattle near Bantara station. This incident caused the train to stop for around 20 minutes as well.
Railway workers acted promptly to remove the dead animal and secure the track. As a result of both these incidents, the inspection vehicle of the DRM was also delayed for about 20 minutes.
