What are the features of the new Vande Metro trains?
These new trains are designed to solve many of the problems currently faced by passengers on the Central and Western Railway lines. The Vande Metro rakes will be fully air-conditioned, bringing relief from Mumbai’s heat and humidity. Unlike the current local trains, these will feature a walk-through design with wider gangways, allowing passengers to move easily between coaches.
Safety and comfort have been given top priority in the design specifications. The trains will come with automatic sliding doors to prevent accidental falls and overcrowding near the exits.
