The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has officially completed the major overhauling of escalators at five busy stations on the Blue Line. This maintenance work was finished on February 11, 2026. Commuters traveling between Delhi and Noida can now use these facilities without any trouble. The machines are fully operational after being closed for repair since mid-January.
List of Stations Where Service is Restored
The technical teams have fixed the escalators at specific levels for smoother movement. The restoration covers the following locations:
- Akshardham: Ground to Concourse level
- New Ashok Nagar: Ground to Concourse level
- Noida Sector-15: Ground to Concourse level
- Noida Sector-16: Platform-1 to Concourse level
- Noida Sector-18: Platform-1 to Concourse level
Maintenance Timeline and Passenger Safety
This repair work started around January 19, 2026, to ensure heavy-duty machinery meets safety standards. During this period, passengers were advised to use lifts or stairs. The DMRC has confirmed that there is no extra charge for using these restored facilities as they are part of the standard metro fare. The main aim was to improve reliability for daily office goers and the general public.
