The Gurugram Traffic Police has announced a major traffic restriction on Sultanpur Road starting from February 16, 2026. This closure is due to essential repair and construction work being carried out by the Northern Railways at the Farrukhnagar railway crossing. For a period of five days, the road will remain blocked for all types of vehicles to ensure the safety of commuters and construction workers. Heavy machinery and materials at the site make the passage unsafe for public movement during this time.
What are the suggested alternate routes for commuters?
To avoid congestion and ensure a smooth journey, the traffic police has shared specific diversion plans. Commuters going from Gurugram towards Farrukhnagar or Jhajjar are advised to travel via Ramgopal College in Sultanpur, pass through Mubarakpur village, and then join the Jhajjar Bypass. Those coming from the opposite direction should follow the same route in reverse. Additionally, people traveling from Farrukhnagar can take the Badli route to reach Gurugram directly without facing any blocks.
Important instructions for KMP and Pataudi route users
Drivers coming from the KMP flyover or Pataudi side should avoid going under the KMP flyover toward Gurugram. Instead, they are encouraged to use the Pataudi-Pachgaon route to reach their destination. ASI Vikas Verma from the Gurugram Traffic Police mentioned that personnel have been deployed at key diversion points to guide the public. Residents are also requested to leave their homes earlier than usual to account for the extra travel time required on these alternate paths.
