North Western Railway has decided to run new special trains to manage the summer rush. These weekly services will connect Rajasthan with West Bengal via Jaipur, providing relief to passengers traveling towards Asansol and Kolkata. Additionally, some train schedules are impacted due to technical maintenance and construction work at Merta Road station.
Jodhpur-Asansol and Madar-Kolkata Special Train Schedules
North Western Railway will operate weekly special trains between April and June to handle the high passenger volume. The Jodhpur-Asansol Special (Train No. 04819/04820) will run from April 14 to May 30. It departs Jodhpur every Tuesday and returns from Asansol every Thursday. The Madar-Kolkata Weekly Special (Train No. 09605/09606) will run for three trips starting April 17, departing Madar on Fridays and returning from Kolkata on Sundays.
| Train Number | Route | Operation Days | Period |
|---|---|---|---|
| 04819/04820 | Jodhpur – Asansol – Jodhpur | Tue (from Jodhpur), Thu (from Asansol) | April 14 to May 30 |
| 09605/09606 | Madar – Kolkata – Madar | Fri (from Madar), Sun (from Kolkata) | April 17 to May 03 |
Major stoppages for these trains include Jaipur, Gotan, Merta Road, Degana, Makrana, Bandikui, Bharatpur, Agra, Kanpur, and Patna. These trains will provide much-needed capacity for those traveling during the summer vacation season.
Impact on Regular Trains Due to Technical Work
While new trains are being introduced, ongoing technical work will affect the operation of seven regular trains. Specifically, Railway Under Bridge (RUB) construction at Merta Road station yard between May 23 and May 25 will lead to cancellations. The Jaipur-Jodhpur Express is among the four trains that will remain fully cancelled during this timeframe. North Western Railway officials have advised passengers to check updated schedules as several other trains may face route diversions during these maintenance activities.
