How did the derailment affect rail operations
The derailment caused partial disruption to the rail traffic in the Gomia region of Bokaro district. Since the accident happened on a yard line, the main line operations were not completely shut down, though several trains had to be diverted or halted at nearby stations for safety reasons. An electric pole near the track fell on one of the derailed wagons during the incident, which required technical teams to isolate power lines before starting the recovery process. No casualties were reported from the site of the accident.
What actions are taken by Railway officials
Station Manager P.P. Toppo and Traffic Inspector Awadhesh Kumar Ram arrived at the site shortly after the report of the accident. A technical team from the East Central Railway worked for several hours to re-rail the wagons and repair the damaged tracks. A special committee has been formed by the Dhanbad division to investigate the exact cause of this derailment, focusing on track conditions and mechanical factors. The railway line is expected to be fully restored for regular traffic within a few hours of the operation.
