Recent social media rumors claiming that Saheli railway station operates 160 trains without any platform infrastructure have been officially debunked by authorities.
Official records confirm that Saheli railway station in Madhya Pradesh has been operational since 1884 with two platforms and two tracks. Railway officials have also clarified that any public confusion regarding the name ‘Saheli’ likely stems from ‘Operation Meri Saheli’, an Indian Railways security initiative for female passengers that is completely unrelated to the physical station facilities. While Saheli remains fully functional, Indian Railways is currently undertaking major infrastructure upgrades in the region.
Bina Junction Mega Block and Train Disruptions
As of August 23, 2026, a 60-day mega block is underway at Bina Junction in Madhya Pradesh to facilitate extensive yard remodeling work. This vital infrastructure upgrade is set to impact a total of 344 trains passing through the station. Passengers must note the specific service changes:
– Cancellation of 16 trains covering 170 trips.
– Diversion of 48 trains to alternate routes.
– Timing adjustments for 21 trains servicing the station.
Benefits of the Bina Yard Remodeling Project
As part of these modernization works, the loop line of Platform Number 3 at Bina Junction is currently being converted into a third main line. This crucial engineering change is designed to ensure consistent operational speeds across the busy junction. Railway authorities project that these enhancements will increase train speeds within the Bina yard from approximately 15 kmph to 30 kmph. Ultimately, this improvement aims to facilitate direct entry to platforms and significantly minimize the necessity for trains to halt unnecessarily at outer or red signals, ensuring smoother future travel for daily commuters and long-distance passengers alike.
