Indian Railways has issued a major update regarding the cancellation of several express and passenger trains until April 30, 2026. This decision comes as part of essential infrastructure development projects being undertaken by the North Western Railway and South East Central Railway divisions. Passengers are advised to plan their journeys according to the revised schedules and check the official status of their bookings through the official helpline or website.
Why are these trains being cancelled?
The disruptions are mainly caused by two major construction projects across different zones. In the North Western Railway division, a mega block has been implemented for double line and automatic signaling work on the Churu-Sadulpur section. Additionally, the South East Central Railway is carrying out platform maintenance and new line construction at Gondia station on the Bilaspur-Raipur route. These technical upgrades are necessary for enhancing train safety and operational efficiency in the long run.
