The East Coast Railway is upgrading platform numbers 5 and 6 at Puri Railway Station to improve passenger amenities and boost operational efficiency. Train services will be affected from August 25 to October 20, 2026, due to these ongoing infrastructure development works managed by the Khurda Road Division. Passengers planning to travel during this period should take note of the temporary terminal changes to avoid any last-minute hassle at the station.
To facilitate smooth construction work without halting operations entirely, several trains that typically originate or terminate at Puri will be diverted to Malatipatpur Station, which is situated about 7 kilometers away from Puri. Passengers are strongly advised to verify their updated schedules ahead of time through official railway enquiry services or by checking the National Train Enquiry System before heading to the station.
