Indian Railways has officially confirmed the introduction of a new weekly express service connecting Godda in Jharkhand to Delhi, marking a significant step in improving rail connectivity for the region. This new route is designed to provide passengers with a more direct and reliable travel option to the national capital, building upon the infrastructure developments that followed the inauguration of the Hansdiha-Godda rail line.
- Train 14050 departs Delhi every Monday at 15:00, arriving in Godda at 15:45 on Tuesday.
- Train 14049 departs Godda every Wednesday at 10:00, reaching Delhi at 09:10 on Thursday.
- The service covers a distance of 1,315 kilometers with an approximate travel time of 23 hours and 5 minutes.
- Key stoppages include Tundla, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, Gaya, Koderma, Madhupur, Jasidih, and Deoghar.
Enhanced Connectivity for Jharkhand
The introduction of this weekly service is a major boost for commuters who previously relied on existing services like the Godda-New Delhi Humsafar Express (12349/12350), which has been operational since April 2021. By adding this new train, the Railways aims to reduce the passenger load on existing routes and offer more flexibility for those traveling between Jharkhand and Delhi.
Route and Operational Details
The train will traverse a major corridor, ensuring that several key industrial and religious hubs are connected to the capital. Passengers can expect the train to halt at crucial stations including Tundla Junction, Kanpur Central, Prayagraj Junction, Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction, Gaya Junction, Koderma Junction, Madhupur Junction, Jasidih Junction, and Deoghar. This extensive route network ensures that travelers from surrounding areas also benefit from the new service.
This development is part of the broader commitment by the Ministry of Railways to expand the rail footprint in Jharkhand. With the approval of this timetable, passengers are advised to check the IRCTC website or the official NTES app for booking availability and further updates regarding fare structures. This service is expected to significantly streamline travel logistics for residents of Godda and its neighboring districts.
