Northern Railway has announced the operation of two pairs of special trains to accommodate increased passenger traffic during the 2026 Raksha Bandhan festive season. The special services will connect the Hazrat Nizamuddin station in Delhi with Jabalpur and Kota, as confirmed by Chief Public Relations Officer Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay. Indian Railways has introduced these services to manage the festive rush between August 22 and August 31, 2026, with additional routes established for locations such as Bareilly, Lucknow, Jaipur, Phulere, Durgapura, Bandra Terminus, and Hisar. Authorities have also deployed special security measures, including Meri Saheli teams, to ensure a safe journey for women travellers during this busy period. Passengers are strongly advised to check detailed schedules and book tickets well in advance.
Jabalpur and Hazrat Nizamuddin Special Train Schedule
For the Jabalpur–Hazrat Nizamuddin route, Train No. 01701 will depart Jabalpur Junction on August 29, 2026, at 8:20 PM, arriving at Hazrat Nizamuddin at 2:25 PM the following day. The return service, Train No. 01702, is scheduled for August 30, 2026, departing Hazrat Nizamuddin at 3:45 PM and reaching Jabalpur Junction at 9:30 AM the next morning. These trains will serve several important stoppages, including Katni Murwara, Damoh, Saugor, Virangana Lakshmibai Jhansi, Gwalior, Dholpur, Agra Cantt, Mathura Junction, and Kosi Kalan. Travellers along this central corridor can expect smooth connectivity despite high festive demand.
Kota and Hazrat Nizamuddin Special Train Schedule
The Kota–Hazrat Nizamuddin service will see Train No. 09803 depart Kota Junction at 10:15 PM on August 22, 24, and 26, 2026, arriving at Hazrat Nizamuddin at 7:00 AM the following day. The return trip, Train No. 09804, will depart Hazrat Nizamuddin at 9:00 AM on August 23, 25, and 27, 2026, reaching Kota Junction at 7:35 PM. CPRO Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay noted that Meri Saheli teams have been actively deployed to enhance security for women passengers during this travel period. Passengers are encouraged to book tickets via the official Indian Railways website or authorized agents and to verify specific stoppage details before departure.
