The Railway Board has officially approved the extension of several MEMU train services in Bihar, specifically targeting the Narkatiaganj and Sikta regions. This initiative aims to improve connectivity for thousands of commuters residing in the border areas of the state. With these changes, direct travel to major urban centers like Darbhanga and Muzaffarpur will become more accessible for the local population.
Which train routes have been extended to Sikta?
The extension covers key MEMU special trains that previously operated on limited sections. According to the new schedule, train numbers 63373 and 63374, which used to run between Raxaul and Darbhanga, will now operate from Narkatiaganj to Sikta before heading to Darbhanga via Raxaul. Additionally, train numbers 63313 and 63314, which formerly served the Raxaul-Muzaffarpur route, will now start their journey from Sikta. These trains will travel through Narkatiaganj on their way to Muzaffarpur, providing a seamless travel option for daily passengers.
