The East Central Railway (ECR) has announced a significant extension for the operational period of multiple special train services originating from Bihar. Effective from July 10, 2026, this strategic move by the Samastipur Railway Division is designed to ease passenger congestion during peak travel windows, including the Sawan month and upcoming festival seasons. By extending these routes, the railways aim to provide consistent connectivity for commuters traveling between Bihar and major hubs across Delhi, Pune, Gujarat, and Uttar Pradesh.
Key details of the extension include:
• Extension of 11 pairs (22 trains) of special and clone special trains.
• Operational continuity for most services through July, August, and September 2026.
• No changes to existing routes, timings, or scheduled stoppages.
• Booking availability for these extended services commenced on July 5, 2026.
Extended Train Services
The extension covers a wide network of trains crucial for long-distance travel. The Barauni-New Delhi Clone Special (02563/02564) and Darbhanga-New Delhi Clone Special (02569/02570) will continue operations until July 31 and August 1, 2026, respectively. Similarly, the Muzaffarpur-Anand Vihar Special (05219/05220) and Purnea Court-Anand Vihar Special (05579/05580) have been extended into early August.
Other vital services receiving extensions include the Saharsa-Anand Vihar Special (05575/05576), Udhna-Madhubani Special (09045/09046), and Udhna-Jhanjharpur Special (09047/09048). Long-distance connectivity is further bolstered by the extension of the Raxaul-Lokmanya Tilak Special (05557/05558) and the Gandhidham-Bhagalpur Special (09451/09452). Notably, the Pune-Danapur-Pune Special Train (01449/01450) will see the longest extension, running until September 28 and September 30, 2026.
