North Eastern Railway has announced the cancellation and diversion of several trains between July 7 and July 11, 2026. This decision was taken to facilitate the commissioning of a third railway line between Gonda and Gonda Kacheri. The project involves pre-interlocking and non-interlocking work on a five-kilometer stretch, with a safety inspection by the Commissioner of Railway Safety scheduled for July 10.

Several key trains operating through the Lucknow division have been cancelled to allow for the track work. The official confirmation was provided by Sumit Kumar, CPRO of North Eastern Railway, and Mahesh Gupta, PRO of Lucknow Division. The affected trains are listed below:

Which trains have changed routes or short terminations?

Many trains will be diverted via Ayodhya or other routes, while some will end their journey early at Lucknow Junction. For instance, the Gwalior-Balrampur Express (22199) and Mumbai-Gorakhpur Superfast (12598) will terminate at Lucknow Junction on specific dates. Other major diversions include the Vaishali Express and Gorakhdham Express on July 8 and 9.
