The construction of the 18.2 kilometer new rail line between Neura and Jat Dumri in Patna district has reached completion. Along with the track work, the railway department has finished 95% of the electrification process on this stretch. This development marks a major step in improving the local rail infrastructure in the region.
When will the CRS inspection and train services begin?
The Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) team is scheduled to conduct a detailed inspection of the Neura to Jat Dumri section in May 2026. This inspection is mandatory to ensure all safety standards are met before opening the line for public use. According to official plans, train services are expected to commence in June 2026 once the safety clearance is received.
How will this new rail line benefit local passengers?
This new rail connectivity is expected to significantly reduce travel time for residents in the southern parts of the city. It will provide a more direct route for passengers traveling between areas like Bihta, Rajgir, and Daniyawan. Local officials anticipate that the start of train operations will ease the pressure on existing routes and offer a more comfortable travel experience for daily commuters.
