Special Trains for Chhath Festival: Bandra Terminus to Gorakhpur Service Starting on November 3rd, 2023.

Special Train Services for Chhath Festival

In preparation for the Chhath festival, an ordinary express train will be operational from Bandra Terminus to Gorakhpur on November 3. This train, specifically designated for migrants returning home for the festival, will depart from Bandra Terminus at 4:40 AM and is expected to arrive in Gorakhpur at 6:00 PM the following day. The train will consist of three sleeper coaches and 15 ordinary second-class coaches, with sleeper class coaches also available for unreserved travel. The return journey will commence from Gorakhpur at 10:00 PM, reaching Balsad at 6:00 AM on the third day.

Additional Special Train Services

In addition to the Bandra Terminus-Gorakhpur special train, the North Eastern Railway is set to run 20 Puja special trains on various routes on November 3. These include trains such as Gorakhpur-Anand Vihar Terminal and Gorakhpur-Delhi, among others. The Saharsa-New Delhi Unreserved Special will also stop at Gorakhpur, departing Saharsa at 4:00 AM and arriving in New Delhi the next day at 4:30 AM. This service will include a total of 10 coaches, comprising three sleeper class and five ordinary second-class coaches, with all sleeper class coaches being unreserved.

Travel Options from Various Regions

Furthermore, the Railways has announced several special trains for returning travelers from regions such as Bihar, Eastern Uttar Pradesh, and other significant areas. Starting from November 3, special trains will be available to various destinations including Delhi, Dehradun, and Mumbai. Notably, the Bengaluru-Danapur-SMVT Bengaluru Express, which will also stop at Prayagraj Chhinvki, is scheduled to run on November 4. Other trains, such as the Pune-Danapur-Pune Superfast Special, will also operate during this period, ensuring ample travel options for passengers returning home for the festival.
