The North Eastern Railway in Gorakhpur has announced that the Tanakpur-Achhnera Express will transition from a special train service to a regular express service effective August 31, 2026. This upgrade brings improved connectivity and a fixed schedule for regular commuters traveling between Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh.
The service will now operate under train numbers 15094 and 15093, running five days a week every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday. The train will remain off-duty on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Along with this regularisation, the Union Railways Ministry has approved a new regular halt at Banbasa railway station, following a formal request from Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
Revised Timings and Schedule
Under the updated timetable, train number 15094 (Tanakpur-Achhnera Express) will depart from Tanakpur at 4:05 AM and arrive at Achhnera at 12:20 PM. Passengers can also note a scheduled stop in Badaun at 7:16 AM. In the reverse direction, train number 15093 (Achhnera-Tanakpur Express) is slated to depart from Achhnera at 3:30 PM, reaching its final destination at Tanakpur at 11:45 PM.
Modern Coach Configuration
To enhance passenger comfort and safety, the upgraded train will be equipped with 17 modern LHB coaches. The robust composition includes one generator-cum-luggage van, eight general second-class coaches, and six general second-class chair car coaches, ensuring ample space and a smoother journey for all travellers.
