What’s inside:

Indian Railways is introducing the Vande Bharat Sleeper train and improving train speeds to enhance travel for passengers.

Indian Railways is planning some exciting updates for train passengers soon. By the end of this month, the Vande Bharat Sleeper service is expected to start, and they are also working to increase train speeds to 160 kmph on certain routes.

The Railway Minister has confirmed that the Vande Bharat Sleeper will begin operations once the second rake is ready. The first rake is complete, and the second one has already been sent out for testing, although it still needs interior finishing.

This new sleeper service will help reduce travel times significantly, especially on the Delhi to Howrah route, which passes through major states like Bihar and West Bengal. Passengers can look forward to quicker journeys and better comfort on their travels.

Currently, most express trains run at speeds of 80 to 110 kmph, with some Vande Bharat trains reaching only up to 120 kmph. The Railways is focusing on upgrading infrastructure to allow for faster speeds and smoother journeys.

If the ongoing trials for the new 160 kmph speeds are successful, we can expect a major improvement in travel times between New Delhi and other important cities in North India soon.

Summary:

  • The Vande Bharat Sleeper train is expected to launch soon.

  • Train speeds are set to increase to 160 kmph on certain routes.

  • The first rake is ready, with the second one undergoing tests.

  • Current express trains operate at lower speeds, causing delays.

  • Successful trials could lead to shorter travel times for passengers.
