Indian Railways is speeding up the process to start Emergency Medical Rooms (EMR) at Moradabad, Bareilly, and Haridwar railway stations. These centers will provide immediate medical help to passengers who fall ill or get injured during their journey. The facility will work on a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.
How will the Emergency Medical Rooms work?
Under the PPP model, the railway has invited tenders from private hospitals and medical service providers to run these rooms. The setup will ensure 24-hour availability of trained medical staff and life-saving equipment. Injured passengers will receive treatment free of cost, while other passengers using the services will be charged a fee.
What facilities will be available for passengers?
- Immediate first aid and emergency care assistance.
- Availability of essential medicines and a pharmacy.
- Ambulance support for critical patients.
- Life-saving medical equipment for urgent needs.
