Ratangarh Railway Station in Rajasthan has officially unveiled its stunning new look, blending modern passenger amenities with the rich architectural heritage of the region. As part of the prestigious Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, the station has been transformed to offer a world-class travel experience while celebrating the unique cultural identity of Rajasthan. This initiative ensures that passengers are greeted by an aesthetic that honors local traditions while enjoying state-of-the-art facilities.
Key highlights of the transformation include:
• Integration of vibrant Rajasthani cultural themes into station architecture.
• Comprehensive upgrades under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme launched in December 2022.
• Modernization of essential passenger infrastructure such as waiting halls and toilets.
• Improved accessibility through new pedestrian walkways, lifts, and escalators.
• Enhanced digital connectivity with free WiFi and modern information display systems.
A National Vision for Modern Rail Infrastructure
The redevelopment of Ratangarh is a significant milestone in the Ministry of Railways’ nationwide project. Launched in December 2022, the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme initially focused on the long-term improvement of 1275 stations. By March 11, 2026, the scope of this ambitious project expanded to include 1337 stations across the country. On June 21, 2026, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw highlighted the rapid progress of these works, noting that stations like Ratangarh are being redesigned to reflect local architecture, much like the successful models seen in Jaipur and Jaisalmer.
Enhanced Passenger Amenities
Beyond the aesthetic improvements, the focus remains firmly on passenger convenience. The station now features upgraded entry and exit points, better roofing, and improved platform surfaces to ensure safety and comfort. Commuters can also expect modern amenities such as food courts, retail kiosks, and executive lounges. Furthermore, the installation of digital passenger information screens and enhanced lighting systems ensures that the station functions as a modern, efficient transport hub. By prioritizing sustainable designs and accessibility, Indian Railways is successfully turning smaller stations into modern landmarks that serve as gateways to India’s diverse cultural heritage.
