Western Railway has officially launched a major safety initiative to secure its tracks by installing high-tech crash barriers across a 500-kilometer stretch connecting Ujjain, Ratlam, Indore, Bhopal, and Kota. The project, which commenced on July 13, 2026, is a strategic move to prevent unauthorized access and cattle intrusion, ensuring smoother train operations and enhanced security for passengers.

Indore Railway Public Relations Officer, Mukesh Kumar, emphasized that the primary objective of this massive infrastructure project is to minimize the risk of accidents. With the upcoming Simhastha 2028, the railway administration is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the infrastructure is prepared for the millions of pilgrims expected to travel by train. By focusing on the Ujjain division first, the railway is ensuring that the most critical areas are secured well in advance of the event.
