The North Central Railway (NCR) has announced the launch of a new weekly special train service connecting Prayagraj to Yesvantpur, bringing a significant boost to connectivity for the Bundelkhand region. This service is designed to ease travel for pilgrims, students, and workers commuting between Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka. Travelers can plan their journeys starting in August 2026, with the service running for a limited period to manage peak demand.

Train No. 04149 will depart from Prayagraj every Wednesday starting August 5, 2026, until September 23, 2026. Departing at 6:00 PM, the train covers a distance of approximately 2336 kilometers over 51 hours, arriving in Yesvantpur at 9:00 PM on Friday.
The return journey, Train No. 04150, will depart from Yesvantpur every Saturday from August 8, 2026, until September 26, 2026. This leg of the journey departs at 7:00 AM and reaches Prayagraj at 6:30 AM on Monday, completing the trip in 47 hours and 30 minutes. In total, eight trips will be operated in each direction.
Enhanced Connectivity for Bundelkhand
This route is particularly significant for passengers in the Bundelkhand region. By providing direct halts at Khajuraho, Chhatarpur (MCSC), Tikamgarh, and Lalitpur, the railway is making long-distance travel significantly more accessible for residents who previously lacked direct connectivity to the southern parts of the country. Other major stations on this route include Shankargarh, Banda, Mahoba, Bina, Itarsi, Nagpur, Secunderabad, and Anantapur.
The train will be hauled by a modern electric engine and will feature a versatile composition of 23 ICF coaches. This consists of two AC Third Tier, one AC Second Tier, eleven Sleeper, seven General, and two SLR/D coaches.
