Indian Railways is planning to increase the number of coaches in Vande Bharat trains to accommodate more passengers.
Indian Railways has a new plan to add more coaches to some Vande Bharat trains. This decision comes as they see an increase in the number of passengers traveling on these trains.
Three trains that currently have 16 coaches will be upgraded to 20 coaches. Additionally, four trains with 8 coaches will be increased to 16 coaches. This change will happen by the financial year 2025-26.
The trains that will see an increase in coaches include routes such as Mangaluru Central to Thiruvananthapuram and Chennai Egmore to Tirunelveli. This means more seats will be available for travelers on these popular routes.
For example, the Mangaluru Central – Thiruvananthapuram train will grow from 16 to 20 coaches. Similarly, the Madurai – Bengaluru train will expand from 8 to 16 coaches. These changes aim to better serve the demand from passengers.
After making these changes, the empty coaches will be used to introduce new trains in different areas. This will help provide more travel options for people in various cities.
