The North Central Railway (NCR) has officially announced the introduction of a new weekly special train service connecting Prayagraj and Sikar. This strategic route is designed to provide seamless connectivity for pilgrims and tourists traveling between the holy Sangam in Prayagraj and the revered Shri Khatu Shyam Ji Dham near Ringas Junction. The service was jointly announced by Amit Sudarshan, CPRO of North Western Railway, and Dr. Shivam Sharma, CPRO of North Central Railway.
- Route: Prayagraj to Sikar (via Ringas Junction)
- Train Numbers: 04161 (Prayagraj-Sikar) and 04162 (Sikar-Prayagraj)
- Operational Period: August 10, 2026, to December 1, 2026
- Frequency: Weekly, with a total of 17 round trips
- Composition: 20 coaches (1 AC-III tier, 10 sleeper, 7 general, 2 guard)
Schedule and Timings
Train number 04161 is scheduled to depart from Prayagraj every Monday at 5:10 PM, reaching Sikar at 8:20 AM the following Tuesday. This service will run from August 10, 2026, to November 30, 2026. For the return journey, train number 04162 will depart from Sikar every Tuesday at 3:25 PM and arrive in Prayagraj at 8:50 AM the next Wednesday, with services operating from August 11, 2026, to December 1, 2026.
Route and Connectivity
To ensure wide accessibility, the train will make several key stops along its journey. The designated stoppages include Bharwari, Fatehpur, Govindpuri, Etawah, Fatehabad, Agra Cantt, Bharatpur, Bandikui, Dausa, Khatipura, Jaipur, Dehar ka Balaji, and Ringas Junction.
This new connectivity is a major boost for travelers visiting iconic destinations across Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. Passengers can now enjoy a direct link between religious hubs like Prayagraj (Sangam), Panki Dham in Kanpur, Mathura-Vrindavan, Mehandipur Balaji in Dausa, and the Shri Khatu Shyam Temple in Ringas. Additionally, the route serves major tourist spots, including the Taj Mahal in Agra and the historic Amer Fort in Jaipur. By providing this dedicated service, Indian Railways aims to offer a safer and more convenient travel experience for passengers, especially during the upcoming festive season.
